Philipponnat Clos des Goisses 2012 comes from a 5.83 hectare vineyard surrounded by walls, one of the few Clos in the region but above all the oldest and steepest in Champagne. Perfectly exposed south, it occupies the best hillside of Mareuil-sur-Ay and constitutes an exceptional terroir, where the chalk is outcropping. Its partial vinification (62%) in oak casks allows more complexity without premature oxidation. No malolactic fermentation, so that the natural acidity compensates for the great power of the terroir.
