Perched on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, Château Canon 1989 is a superb expression of Right Bank elegance in a warm and generous vintage. This Premier Grand Cru Classé B now offers a beautifully mature bouquet of ripe plum, fig, leather, truffle, and forest floor. The palate is silky and harmonious, with soft, integrated tannins and a long, graceful finish.

Made from old Merlot vines and selected Cabernet Franc plots, the wines have a beautiful deep dark purple color. The nose is expressive, it offers aromas of chocolate, plums and sour cherries. On the palate, the attack is round and velvety, the wine is thick, with a nice discreet woodiness and very silky tannins. The finish is elegant.

2019 is a great vintage for this essential Château in Saint-Estèphe. In the mouth, a lot of roundness and balance with fine tannins.

1990 vintage: Bud break and flowering were very early and followed by a very hot and dry summer with some stormy rains at the end of August. The late season was also optimal and allowed the harvest of perfectly ripe grapes. Exceptional year!
