Château de Rouillac is a wine estate located in Pessac, Bordeaux, France. Situated in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the château is known for its high-quality red and white wines that combine elegance and structure.
The red wines of Château de Rouillac are primarily crafted from traditional Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. They are characterized by their aromatic complexity, featuring notes of ripe black fruits, cassis, cherry, along with hints of cedar, tobacco, and spices. On the palate, the wines reveal a velvety texture, fine tannins, and a beautiful structure, with a long, harmonious finish. The whites, mainly made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, offer aromas of white fruits, citrus, and flowers, with vibrant acidity, a round texture, and an elegant finish.
The estate employs meticulous viticulture and careful winemaking practices, blending traditional methods with modern techniques to produce wines of exceptional quality. Each bottle of Château de Rouillac reflects the excellence of the Pessac-Léognan terroir, providing a refined and memorable tasting experience.
One of the greatest hedonistic vintages, in line with 1989, 1982, 1959 or 1947. Its color is a very dark red. The nose is very complex, delicate and elegant; aromas of fresh black fruits, blackcurrant, spices and violet combine wonderfully. The palate is delicious and the tannins are velvety. The structure and precision of this wine highlight opulent, ripe and fresh fruit.
The 2020 vintage is the 59th harvest from Henri Duboscq, owner of Château Haut-Marbuzet. The wines are of very high quality due to the lowest yield ever imposed (30hl per hectare).
1990 vintage: Bud break and flowering were very early and followed by a very hot and dry summer with some stormy rains at the end of August. The late season was also optimal and allowed the harvest of perfectly ripe grapes. Exceptional year!
