Maison Egly-Ouriet – The Essence of Champagne Terroir
A benchmark among grower Champagnes, Maison Egly-Ouriet has long been revered for its deep respect for terroir. Based in Ambonnay, one of the most prestigious Grand Cru villages in the Montagne de Reims, the house is led by Francis Egly, who has elevated it to cult status among enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
Its 17-hectare vineyard, primarily planted with Pinot Noir, thrives in chalky soils that impart power, depth, and elegance to its wines. Committed to sustainability, Egly-Ouriet practices low-intervention viticulture, ensuring low yields and optimal grape maturity to fully express the character of each plot.
The house is renowned for its meticulous winemaking: fermentation in oak barrels, extended aging on lees (far beyond Champagne norms), and no malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and structure. This results in intensely complex Champagnes, offering a rich texture and unmistakable vinous character.
Among its iconic cuvées, the Brut Grand Cru showcases the pure essence of its terroir, while the legendary Les Crayères Vieilles Vignes, a 100% Pinot Noir from century-old vines, is a true collector’s gem. The Memory Collection is a testament to the best vintages of Maison Alfred Gratien, which has been stored for more than 20 years in the Alfred Gratien oenotheque, in the heart of the cellars. The predominance of Chardonnay gives the 1997 vintage elegance and finesse, as well as a particular aptitude for aging.
The Brut Rosé from Maison Armand de Brignac is a real concentrate of aromatic power, lots of liveliness and fresh notes of red fruits thanks to a blend of Pinot Noir (50%), Pinot Meunier (40%) and Chardonnay (10%). Such as Brut Gold, Armand de Brignac has selected 3 great vintages for the elaboration in order to bring complexity to this Champagne of character.
Billecart-Salmon Clos Saint-Hilaire 2009 is a Blanc de noirs vinified in barrels allowing the richness of the terroir and the purity of the wine to express themselves. This rare vintage of incredible typicity will go through the next decades with strength and elegance.
The Abyss cuvée is a very unique Champagne which has aged underwater for 1 year. These special aging conditions highlight during the tasting a mineral and chalky signature, reflecting the great terroirs of Champagne.
Solessence Nature is the prolonged aging of the Solessence cuvée and without dosage. Time has refined the work, the wine is expressed in its natural balance. Production limited to around 3,500 bottles per year.

Egly-Ouriet Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes is a Cuvée from a Pinot Noir vine, lieu-dit “Les Crayères”, planted in 1946 and 1947 on an exceptional terroir in the Ambonnay vineyard classified as a Grand Cru.
Created by the founder of the house, Eugène Moussé, 100 years ago, this cuvée has become a reflection of the Moussé Fils terroir. It is made from a perpetual reserve (solera) with wines dating from 2003 to 2020 and refreshed each year with 50% of the new harvest.
