Zacapa Edicion Negra is made using the “Sistema Solera” technique, during which rums aged between 6 and 23 years are blended and then aged in a succession of barrels. It benefits from an additional year of aging in toasted American oak barrels, which gives it a new, more structuring facet with intense smoky flavors.

Aged for fourteen years under a tropical climate, this rum then continued its maturation in a continental climate, gaining remarkable depth and complexity. Its full maturation in Madeira casks has shaped a rich and sophisticated aromatic and flavor profile, marked by elegance and character.

Dictador 20 ans is the result of 18 years' initial aging in bourbon casks, followed by a 2-year finish in port casks, giving it a round, flavorful texture. Richer, more refined and more complex than the 12-year-old version, it has a powerful profile, with notes of vanilla, caramel and roasted cocoa.
