Distilled in October 2013, it was matured in first-fill bourbon casks, ensuring maximum wood influence on the smoky, balanced spirit typical of Adberg. Aged for a decade near the Atlantic coast, this whisky seemed predestined to become a house classic. However, when Dr. Bill Lumsden, the whisky's creative director, tasted cask n°7195, he was surprised by its exceptionally fruity character. In addition to the usual aromas of pine, sea spray, licorice and smoke, this whisky reveals exotic touches of banana, lime and cooked pineapple, fully embodying Ardbeg's unprecedented tropical facet.
