Hennessy Privé origins trace back to 1920, when James Hennessy — a man of influence, power, and refined taste at the heart of French social and political life — commissioned a “very private” Cognac for his circle of distinguished friends. He entrusted Master Blender Alfred Fillioux with the task of crafting a Cognac both structured and elegant, embodying the spirit of the Art Deco era.
Nearly a century later, Maison Hennessy revived this tradition. Yann Fillioux, a direct descendant of Alfred, created this tribute to the exclusive expression once enjoyed by James Hennessy and his contemporaries. To shape Privé, he selected remarkable old eaux-de-vie aged in young oak barrels, resulting in a robust character with exceptional depth and elegance.
