The Balvenie French Oak is a vibrant single malt finished in barrels that previously held wine from the French Charentes vineyards. This is the first finish in the Balvenie range to explore French oak. Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine, made from unfermented grape juice, to which a Cognac eau-de-vie is added, then left to age. Finishing in Pineau barrels creates notes of grapefruit, geranium, candied fruit and ginger.
Balvenie is an exceptional Single Malt which reveals the capital influence of artisanal production on the qualities of a great whisky. Nowhere else will you find a distillery that continues to grow its barley on its land, carries out malting on its own grounds, and continues to employ a team of coopers and boilermakers to maintain its barrels and stills.
At The Balvenie, aging takes place in traditional dark and humid cellars, with low ceilings and an earth floor which provides the optimal maturation conditions to produce exceptional Single-Malts. This is why the house is recognized by all great amateurs who particularly appreciate its unique honeyed notes.
The Macallan Sherry Oak 30 Years Old forms part of the Sherry Oak range which features a series of single malt whiskies matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. Deliciously smooth with a long, rich finish, the natural dark mahogany colour of the 30 Years Old is the richest in the range.
This annual 2023 release, A Night on Earth - The Journey is a unique expression created using a perfectly balanced combination of exceptional first-fill American ex-bourbon barrels, along with European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks.
