The Hakushu Distillery is nestled in the heart of the Southern Alps of Japan, among the mountain forests of Mount Kaikomagatake. This natural environment gives it an aromatic sweetness. Hakushu 25 Year Old Japanese Whisky is a deep, fresh and smoky Single Malt, with aromas of ripe fruit, chocolate and vanilla that seduce the nose. The long and persistent finish reveals notes of smoke and fruit.

The Publican barley used for this edition was grown in field 43ac and harvested at the end of August 2009. It was dried and stored on the farm before being malted at Alloa in 2010. The single malt comes from twenty-seven first-fill bourbon casks, distilled in December 2011. It was aged in the upper part of the cellar until 2024, before being bottled.
In 2023, with the installation of four additional fermentation vats, also made of Oregon pine, the Lochranza distillery's production capacity increased from 600,000 to 800,000 liters of pure alcohol per year.
