Located in the heart of the Japanese Alps, the Shinshu Distillery was established in 1985. After a period of dormancy, it resumed operations in 2011. Paying homage to the iconic mountain located near the Mars Shinshu Distillery, Cosmo is a blended malt which includes Mars single malt. Wonderfully oxidative and extroverted, he displays remarkable maturity while retaining the energy of his youth. A true masterpiece in the art of blending.
Port Charlotte 2013 PMC: 01 is the 6th limited edition from the Cask Exploration Series. The barley comes from 7 local farms on the island of Islay (Concerto, Propino, Publican & Oxbridge varieties), peated at 40 ppm, cask strength at 54.5°. This Single Malt was aged in bourbon barrels for 4 years then in Pomerol barrels for 5 years.
