Glenmorangie Calvados Cask Finish was born from Dr. Bill Lumdsen's fascination with the sweet notes of Calvados, distilled in France from apples, and sometimes even pears. He therefore wondered how these barrels, never used at Glenmorangie at the time, could reinforce the classic, fruity finesse of the whisky. Dr. Bill Lumdsen chose a whisky aged for more than 10 years in white oak bourbon barrels, which he then transferred to barrels that had contained Calvados from Pays d'Auge in Normandy for 20 years. This 12 year old single malt is a wonderful addition (5th) to the Barrel Select Release limited series.
