I Sodi Di San Niccolò was first produced in 1977 in Castellare di Castellina, a small village located between Florence and Siena, in the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation in Italy.
First Italian wine to appear in the Top 100 of Wine Spectator in 1988, it also obtained the distinction of "Best Italian Red Wine" in 2018.
Since the creation of the Estate, its owner, Paolo Penarai, since joined by the famous oenologist Alessandro Callai, has sought to reconcile tradition, innovation and respect for the environment: I Sodi Di San Niccolò is thus one of the rare Supertuscans produced exclusively from native grape varieties (85% Sangioveto / 15% Malvasia Nera).
