Le Puy Retour des Iles was born from the desire to rediscover the sensations that English merchants of the Middle Ages must have experienced when they tasted the wines brought back from their journey across the oceans, in search of the most sought-after dishes. To do this, the estate carefully chose four barrels of their wine which showed unique potential just waiting to be highlighted. They are then loaded into the hold of a schooner, for a crossing of the Atlantic accomplished solely by the force of the winds. During this journey, which lasts almost eight months, the wine lives according to the swaying waves and the scents of the sea, the variations in pressure and temperature. It absorbs unique flavors and aromas, giving it a new and incomparable dimension.
