This vintage is perfectly balanced, creating a harmonious Cristal. The year 2016 unexpectedly brought a superb balance to Cristal, blending its bright, vibrant character with its grounded, earthy side. It's similar to the nearly perfect balance of past ripe and refined years, following in the footsteps of Champagne's best like 2002, 2008, and 2012. Cristal 2016 is both new and exciting. This vintage produces clean, well-built wines with ultimate freshness and precision.

The acidity of this great champagne has barely calmed down: under great freshness, it reveals delicately reduced notes of toast and mocha, then the wine opens up and evolves towards aromas of white truffle. This wine has a lot of breadth thanks to the Pinot Noir from Ambonnay and Dizy: in the mouth you can feel an imposing structure, with a lemony zest on the finish.
