Glenfiddich 23 Years Grand Cru is a blend of whiskies aged for at least 23 years in ex-Bourbon casks and ex-Sherry casks, then refined in French oak barrels having contained exceptional wines from the Champagne region. In 1984, Blanton's was the first single barrel bourbon to restore American whiskey to its former glory, and later released a Gold version at 103 proof (51.5% alc). Blanton's features a higher percentage of rye in its recipe, making it drier and spicier (cinnamon and nutmeg).
