Volcan de mi Tierra – Exceptional Tequila Born of the Volcanic Soils of Jalisco
Founded in 2017 by LVMH in collaboration with the Gallardo family, Volcan de mi Tierra is a tequila that honors both ancestral heritage and contemporary innovation. Its name itself evokes the volcanic activity that some 200,000 years ago shaped the lands of Jalisco—ashes, basalt, iron, and minerals depositing to create fertile soils and a unique topography.
The brand uses 100% blue agave, sourced from both the highlands (Altos) and the lowlands (Valles) of Tequila, two terroirs with complementary characters: the Altos yield floral, fruity, and gentler notes; the Valles deliver herbaceous, earthy and sometimes spicy traits.
Every stage of production is crafted with precision: traditional cooking of the agave (including brick ovens and sometimes Tahona-crushing for certain expressions), careful fermentation—sometimes with champagne or rum yeast—copper pot still distillation, followed by aging in both American and European oak barrels, new or seasoned depending on the expression.
Key expressions include:
The Blanco, pure and vibrant, expressing the raw agave, freshness, citrus, pepper, and sweet herbal tones.
The Reposado, result of aging in mixed barrels, offering a rich interplay of wood, honey, dried fruits, and vanilla.
The premium X.A., an ultra-premium blend of reposado, añejo and extra-añejo tequilas, matured longer, offering a complex profile with caramel, toasted oak, dried fruit and depth.
Volcan de mi Tierra is also proud of its transparency: certified under NOM 1523, fully produced in its own distillery at the foot of the Tequila Volcano, from agave field to bottle. No additives are used in its spirits—each bottle is a true expression of terroir, climate, and Mexican tradition.
On the palate, Volcan de mi Tierra reveals rare elegance: balanced and complex, merging power with subtlety. You’ll find vegetal agave, citrus, spices, floral notes; depending on the expression, smoky or woody traits. Best savored neat, on ice, or elevated in a cocktail, it appeals equally to tequila connoisseurs and adventurous spirits lovers.
