Caroni is a legendary distillery from Trinidad, renowned for producing exceptional rums with a powerful and distinctive identity. Founded in 1918, it was long considered the island’s flagship distillery, crafting rich and intense rums using its column still and traditional production methods.
Closed in 2002, Caroni has since become a true myth in the rum world. Its remaining stocks, rediscovered and bottled by enthusiasts like Luca Gargano of Velier, are now highly sought after. Appreciated for their deep aromas of dried fruits, tar, spices, and molasses, Caroni rums are an essential reference for connoisseurs and collectors alike.
Distilled in 2010, this version is Hampden's oldest bottling, aged in a tropical climate, making it an exceptional and rare rum. With an ester content of between 200 and 400 gr/hlPA at distillation, this version comes from the LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly) mark, created in 1952 by the Hampden distillery.
