Château de Montifaud is a family-owned wine estate located in Segonzac, in the Cognac region of France. Founded in the early 20th century, the château is renowned for its high-quality Cognac spirits, reflecting traditional craftsmanship and the excellence of the Grande Champagne terroir, one of the top crus in the region.
Château de Montifaud Cognacs are primarily crafted from Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes. They are distinguished by their finesse, aromatic complexity, and balance. The cuvées feature aromas of dried fruits, vanilla, honey, and flowers, with subtle notes of spices and oak. On the palate, the Cognacs reveal a velvety texture, aromatic richness, and impressive length. The Château de Montifaud VSOP, for example, is particularly praised for its harmony, depth, and elegance.
The estate follows an artisanal approach to distillation and aging, utilizing traditional methods such as distillation in Charentais stills and aging in oak barrels. Each bottle of Château de Montifaud reflects the excellence of the Grande Champagne terroir, providing a refined and authentic tasting experience.

This extremely rare cognac comes from a family of winegrowers based in Angeac-Champagne. It comes from a very old stock, distinct from the stock of the property, the lots of which are rarely put up for sale, and always in a confidential manner. It aged for many years in a small clay cellar, before moving to the Grosperrin cellars in Saintes.
