Maison Tiffon – Excellence and Legacy in Cognac
Founded in 1875, Maison Tiffon is one of the oldest Cognac houses still in operation. Based in Jarnac, in the heart of the Charente region, it has upheld a tradition of excellence for over a century, blending heritage and innovation to craft Cognacs of remarkable quality.
The house’s history took a pivotal turn in 1913, when Sverre Braastad, a Norwegian Cognac enthusiast, married the founder’s granddaughter and took over the estate. This fusion of Nordic culture and Charentaise savoir-faire created a dynasty of passionate Cognac makers, who continue to lead the house today.
Tiffon’s vineyards span 40 hectares in the prestigious Grande Champagne and Fins Bois appellations. Every step of production is meticulously controlled: distillation takes place in traditional copper pot stills, while aging occurs in Limousin oak casks, enhancing the Cognacs’ complexity and elegance.
Tiffon Cognacs are known for their perfect balance of power and finesse, offering rich aromas of dried fruits, vanilla, spices, and exceptional length on the palate. Among its iconic expressions, the Cognac Tiffon XO delivers remarkable smoothness and depth, while the prestigious Cognac Tiffon Extra showcases the house’s oldest and rarest reserves.
A true gem of Charentais heritage, Maison Tiffon continues to captivate fine spirits enthusiasts with its authenticity and commitment to excellence, crafting Cognacs where every drop tells a story of passion and tradition.
