Krug Grande Cuvée 162nd Edition from Krug embodies the house’s founding vision: to recreate each year the most generous expression of Champagne, beyond the limits of a single vintage.
Created around the 2006 harvest, this exceptional edition is the result of a blend of 163 wines from 11 different years, the youngest dating from 2006 and the oldest from 1990. Reserve wines, drawn from the house’s extensive library, account for 40% of the final blend, bringing breadth, complexity and roundness to this iconic cuvée.
The blend consists of 44% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 21% Meunier, achieving a remarkable balance between structure, freshness and aromatic richness.
Maison Krug – The Art of Champagne Excellence
Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, Maison Krug follows a unique vision: to craft the most generous expression of Champagne, regardless of climatic variations. Staying true to this philosophy, Krug creates wines of unparalleled richness and complexity by blending a mosaic of wines from different years and parcels.
Krug is one of the few houses to vinify each parcel separately in small oak casks, preserving the authenticity and individuality of each terroir. This artisanal approach imparts exceptional depth, silky texture, and remarkable aging potential to Krug champagnes.
Its iconic Krug Grande Cuvée is re-created every year from a blend of approximately 120 wines spanning more than 10 vintages, ensuring timeless richness and elegance. Other cuvées, such as Krug Rosé, Krug Vintage, and the prestigious Krug Clos du Mesnil, each highlight a unique facet of the house’s craftsmanship.
Renowned as the connoisseur’s champagne, Krug captivates lovers of excellence worldwide with its boldness, complexity, and unmistakable signature. Each bottle offers a unique sensory experience, where the “music of wine” plays in perfect harmony.
Cristal Rosé Vinothèque 2004 celebrates the remarkable journey of a few bottles which were stored for 20 years in the cellars of Louis Roederer, in search of the perfect balance. The blend was aged for 9 years on "lattes", followed by 5 years on "pointes", and rested for 6 years after disgorging.
Dom Pérignon 1990 is a full and round wine without opulence which expresses itself in great harmony. The attack is clear and intense with a cross-fade on a silky finish reminiscent of candied citrus fruits.
This vintage is perfectly balanced, creating a harmonious Cristal. The year 2016 unexpectedly brought a superb balance to Cristal, blending its bright, vibrant character with its grounded, earthy side. It's similar to the nearly perfect balance of past ripe and refined years, following in the footsteps of Champagne's best like 2002, 2008, and 2012. Cristal 2016 is both new...
Henri Giraud Hommage au Pinot Noir is, as its name suggests, a Blanc de Noirs Champagne made from the historic terroirs of the House in Aÿ. This grape variety brings a lot of roundness, complexity and elegance, enhanced by aging in small oak barrels.
