Jacques Prieur Meursault Perrières 1er Cru comes from a 0.28 hectare plot with very thin (15-20 cm) sloping soil, facing east. Very calcareous basement. Limestone sheets. Lots of stones = stony ground.
The place called La Fortune benefits from soil, climate and exposure that are very favorable to Pinot Noir. The vine being young, La Fortune is a very fruity wine, open, but more relatively tender.
In the Côte des Vaillons, there are 8 distinct lieux-dits which may be at the origin of this appellation. The nose is pronounced with notes of fruit and flowers, beautiful freshness and minerality. The palate is generous and refined, with a beautiful roundness.
