Established in the 18th century, Château Troplong Mondot takes its name from Raymond Troplong, a prominent magistrate and wine enthusiast, who acquired the estate in 1850. Located on the prestigious Mondot hillside, the estate benefits from an exceptional terroir characterized by clay-limestone soils and unique geological formations, which give the wines their structure and aromatic richness.
The Troplong family played a significant role in the estate’s history, modernizing viticulture techniques and positioning the château among Bordeaux’s great names. In 1980, Christine Valette, a descendant of the family, infused new energy into the estate, focusing on excellence at every stage of production—a commitment that earned the château its Premier Grand Cru Classé B status in 2006.
Since 2017, the estate has been owned by the Paris family, who continue to uphold its legacy as a global benchmark, combining exceptional winemaking expertise with a respectful approach to the terroir.
