Château Latour, Pauillac - The Quintessential Prestige of a First Growth
Château Latour is one of the most iconic names in Bordeaux wine, located in the Pauillac appellation on the Left Bank of the Gironde. Classified as a First Growth in 1855, this historic estate is renowned for its wines of supreme elegance and unmatched depth, making each bottle a true masterpiece.
Primarily crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, with significant proportions of Merlot and touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, Château Latour embodies the essence of the great Médoc wines. On the palate, it reveals a complex and captivating bouquet of ripe black fruits, cassis, cherry, and plum, enhanced by notes of cedar, tobacco, leather, and graphite. The wine stands out for its imposing structure, powerful yet fine tannins, and an incredibly long and elegant finish, marked by remarkable freshness and profound minerality.
Château Latour is an exceptional aging wine, evolving and improving magnificently over decades, developing even more complex aromas and a more refined texture over time. It pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, game, or aged cheeses. For wine enthusiasts, Château Latour is an essential experience, representing the pinnacle of sophistication and quality in the world of wine.
Light yellow color with lime reflections. Very round attack and intense bouquet mixing the fruits of the sun with a hint of pineapple with mineral notes of flint. The palate is marked by a long path ending on a seductive salinity.
Puy Barthélemy comes from a plot with a unique geology called “les Rocs”, planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is obtained after natural vinification known as infusion.
One of the greatest hedonistic vintages, in line with 1989, 1982, 1959 or 1947. Its color is a very dark red. The nose is very complex, delicate and elegant; aromas of fresh black fruits, blackcurrant, spices and violet combine wonderfully. The palate is delicious and the tannins are velvety. The structure and precision of this wine highlight opulent, ripe and fresh fruit.
1990 vintage: Bud break and flowering were very early and followed by a very hot and dry summer with some stormy rains at the end of August. The late season was also optimal and allowed the harvest of perfectly ripe grapes. Exceptional year!
The 2020 vintage is the 59th harvest from Henri Duboscq, owner of Château Haut-Marbuzet. The wines are of very high quality due to the lowest yield ever imposed (30hl per hectare).
